Agrani Exchange House Private Limited

(100% owned by Agrani Bank PLC., Bangladesh)

A significant number of Bangladeshi expatriates are employed in various sectors in Singapore and regularly remit funds to support their families and relatives in Bangladesh. Prior to the commencement of operations of Agrani Exchange House in February 2002, only a limited portion of these remittances was transferred through formal banking channels. Consequently, many expatriate workers, particularly those with limited financial literacy, became vulnerable to unauthorized remittance networks commonly known as “Hundi”. These informal operators often enticed workers with misleading promises and unregulated services, resulting in financial losses and depriving many expatriates of their hard-earned savings. The establishment of Agrani Exchange House provided a secure, reliable, and regulated channel for remitting funds, thereby contributing significantly to the promotion of legal remittance flows and the protection of expatriate workers’ financial interests.

Under the guidance of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Agrani Bank Limited established Agrani Exchange House in Singapore to facilitate secure, reliable, and speedy remittance services for Bangladeshi professionals and migrant workers. The Exchange House enables customers to remit funds to any branch of any bank in Bangladesh within the shortest possible time.

Since its inauguration, the Exchange House has received an overwhelming response from Bangladeshi expatriates and other remitters in Singapore, reflecting the trust and confidence placed in its services. To ensure greater convenience for customers, the Exchange House remains open until late evening every day, providing accessible and customer-friendly remittance solutions.

In addition to remittance services, Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Singapore can avail themselves of various foreign currency investment and savings facilities through Agrani Exchange House. Eligible wage earners may open Non-Resident Foreign Currency Deposit (NFCD) Accounts and Foreign Currency (FC) Accounts, as well as invest in Wage Earners’ Development Bonds and other government-approved savings instruments in Bangladesh. Our dedicated team provides the necessary assistance and guidance to facilitate these services efficiently and conveniently.
